Troubleshooting

This page provides some basic tips for troubleshooting any site issues and the information I need to be able to best help you – and to help you save time and money!

General tips:

— Use email subject lines that reference your issue (ie: “Edits to “About” page not showing in browser”). Try to create a new email thread/subject line for your issue rather than adding to an existing email thread with a different subject line – this helps me reference and track the relevant issue much faster, and is a lot more informative to me at first glance than a subject line that says something like “I don’t know what to do?”

— In your mail, try to be as specific as possible: add links to the pages you’re referencing, add relevant screenshots, tell me what steps you’ve taken.

— When you’ve made changes to your site and they don’t appear for you on the front end, in many cases this can be resolved by clearing your browser cache and/or site cache.  Try viewing your site in an incognito browser.

Troubleshooting Forms:

1. Submit a test entry using the form on the website – check for “form successfully submitted” note.
2. Check Flamingo (get it here if you don’t have it on your site already: https://wordpress.org/plugins/flamingo/) to see if your test submission was recorded.
3. Check your email and junk mail folders to see if you received the email.
4. If not, check the “Mail” settings in the Contact Form to make sure the form recipient email address(es) information is correct.
